KFC apologizes after student discovers brain-like substance in meal

By Michael Sebastian | Posted: January 10, 2013
How’s this for a mea culpa?

After a 19-year-old student in the U.K. discovered what he thought was a “wrinkled brain” inside his fried piece of chicken from KFC, the fast feeder apologized and explained: Oh, that—that wasn’t a brain, it was a kidney.

According to The Sun newspaper, 19-year-old Ibrahim Langoo took a photo of the odd piece of chicken and submitted it online (the paper doesn’t indicate where online). Following an analyses of the photo, KFC apologized to the man.

A spokesperson for KFC told The Sun:
“Although we haven’t received the product, it appears from a photograph that unfortunately on this occasion a kidney, and not a brain as claimed, was not removed in the preparation process.”
The spokesperson stressed that there was no health risk to Langoo, who received vouchers in return for the unsightly experience.
