Within a few years, social media has become a hot new job opportunity for many. From community managers to bloggers to social media strategists, several new types of positions have emerged.

Where are these jobs the most prevalent?

According to the Social Media Jobs Salary Guide by Onward Search, California has the most job opportunities for social media compared to other states. New York, Boston and Washington, DC are also strong markets for those looking for digital jobs. 

"Hiring a social media professional is no longer an afterthought for successful companies," said Ken Clark, chief operating officer at Onward Search.
