Dell has an important PR lesson to teach us: never trust a Danish provocateur.

The company apologized Monday for Mads Christensen’s misogynistic comments while he hosted a panel discussion during a Dell global conference in Copenhagen last month.

Christensen “applauded the tech industry for shutting out women,” according to The Daily Beast. He didn’t stop there, as Danish radio personality Christiane Vejlø recalls in a recent blog post.

“‘We can thank women for the rolling pin,’ he adds. And then the moderator of the day finishes off by asking all (men) in the room to promise him that they will go home and say, ‘Shut up b***h!.’”

Dell’s apology was published Monday afternoon on its Google+ page, including a link to Vejlø’s blog post. The apology states that Christensen’s comments “do not reflect Dell’s company values and undermine much of the work we’ve done in support of women in the workplace overall.”

Further, the company promised to be “more careful selecting speakers at Dell events.” So don’t expect Dell to go trusting Danish provocateurs any time soon.
