Looking for a new gig?
The Romney campaign is hiring a
fulltime copyeditor. Among the skills needed for the job: the “ability to edit and proof own work.”
That skill seems to be in high demand at the campaign’s Boston headquarters—at least in the social media department—after the team made another spelling error. The Twitter feed
@typohunter caught the most recent gaffe, which appeared on Romney’s Facebook page.
Ordinarily, such a typo would be mocked by the writers and editors seeing it, and then ignored until someone fixed it. However, the “offical” error marks the third spelling gaffe in a week. The most high profile example occurred last Tuesday, when the Romney campaign unveiled its new app, which
misspelled “America” and went viral. Over the weekend, a Facebook post teasing a new ad offered readers a “
sneek peak.”
Addressing the spelling errors, a Romney spokeswoman told MSNBC: “Mistakes happen.”
