Every summer, the website
24/7 Wall St. lists 10 brands that it predicts will disappear in the next 12 months. Some of its picks over the years have vanished, others are still going strong.
No. 1 on
this year’s list, which was released on Thursday, is American Airlines; 24/7 Wall St. claims US Airways will buy the air carrier. We’ll see. The website has been beating the drum about American for the past year. In June 2011, it
said the airline would vanish by 2012.
Either way, here are 10 brands the
24/7 Wall St. claims will no longer exist in 2013:
10. Avon
9. MetroPCS
8. The Oakland Raiders
7. Salon.com
6. Suzuki
5. Pacific Sunwear
4. Research in Motion
3. Current TV
2. Talbots
1. American Airlines
The website determines the list by looking at a number of factors, among them “a rapid fall-off in sales and steep losses,” bankruptcy, rapidly rising costs that will not be recovered, and more.
