The vice president of public relations at Chick-fil-A died early Friday, according to a statement from the company.
Donald Perry passed away suddenly of a
reported heart attack.
"Don was a member of our Chick-fil-A family for nearly 29 years," the
company said in a statement (as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution). "For many of you in the media, he was the
spokesperson for Chick-fil-A. He was a well-respected and well-liked
media executive in the Atlanta and University of Georgia communities,
and we will all miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."
For nearly the last two weeks, Chick-fil-A has been embroiled in a PR crisis after its president Don Cathy said he opposes same-sex marriage.
