StubHub is the latest company to commit a Twitter gaffe, although the origins of the questionable tweet remain unknown.
On Friday night, the following tweet appeared on the StubHub Twitter account (minus the asterisk)
"Thank f*ck it's Friday! Can't wait to get out of this stubsucking hell hole."
According to Gawker
, the very next update on StubHub's Twitter feed
said simply, "Tweet."
Both tweets were deleted and about an hour later, the company tweeted an apology:
Mashable reached out to StubHub for comment
, and the company's PR department said it was investigating the tweet.
Last week, KitchenAid apologized after an offensive tweet about President Obama's late grandmother appeared on its feed
, the result of an employee posting to the wrong Twitter account. The company aggressively responded in the wake of the errant tweet, helping to mitigate the damage.
It's unclear whether the StubHub incident is also a case of mistaken Twitter accounts, or if the the company's account was hacked.
