I know, I know. We've beaten the social media guru to death, hung him out to dry, and moved on to a post-social media guru era. That's where the social media strategist comes in. The difference between a guru and a strategist is that a strategy requires thought, reading, research, and yes, sometimes silence. The strategist is the person who listens, learns all he or she can about a client, notices trends, and then wraps his or her head around it to forge a strategic path.
