New app takes Tinder’s approach to client-agency relationships

The new app Pitcher, developed by Dutch ad agency Woedend!, aims to bring clients and agencies together.

The days of long-term relationships between client and agency aren’t over, but anyone who’s worked in this field knows that it’s much more common to hire agencies for one-off projects. It’s kind of like dating.

An Amsterdam-based agency called Woedend! recognized this and created an app, inspired by Tinder, which matches clients and agencies.

The app, dubbed Pitcher, is available for Android and iPhones. According to AdWeek, “it lets you specify criteria like brand category, campaign type and pitch fee—and then you swipe through a selection of Amsterdam’s top ad agencies, each with a short profile and overview of their latest work.”

And just like with Tinder, swipe left to reject, swipe right to accept. The app enables clients to create a short list of five agencies, and then prospective clients can contact them to possibly pitch for the project.
