DCCC explains ‘apocalpytic’ campaign email subjects

There’s enough chatter about the apocalypse in media and popular culture that it’s become a real concern for many people. That’s probably why so many people would like the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to dial it down several notches in its email marketing.

Here are a few examples of recent subject lines in the committee’s email pushes sound a bit dramatic:

The apocalyptic approach has even inspired a parody Tumblr, “Emails from the DCCC.”

Unfortunately, the DCCC probably isn’t ready to give up quite yet, according to Business Insider, which spoke with the group’s chairman, Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.):
