General Mills recalls popular granola bar brand

After voluntarily taking some of its flour products off shelves this month, the organization is doing the same with several Nature Valley varieties. No illnesses have been reported as of yet.

Listeria is to blame for another round of recalls, this time from General Mills.

The Minneapolis-based company is voluntarily recalling several Nature Valley granola bar varieties as part of the ongoing SunOpta Listeria scare. SunOpta sunflower seeds were found to contain the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The recall also affected Kashi and Butterfield Foods products, among others.

“We know this is inconvenient for consumers who love these four flavors,” Anton Vincent, president of the brand’s snacks division, said in a statement. “We promise they will return as soon as it is safe to do so.” FREE DOWNLOAD: Practical tips and advice on how to overcome obstacles.
