For years, people have depended on coffee to rouse them from under the covers. Today’s generation relies more on the warming glow of its digital device screens.

Yes, screens—plural.

From the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed, young people are constantly connected to their electronics, syncing their tablets and smartphones with all the latest updates that came in while they caught their precious shuteye.

According to this infographic, titled “A Day in the Digital Life,” 35 percent of smartphone users boot up their apps before booting themselves from bed, and 83 percent of young people sleep within reach of their trusty devices.
