Here’s another case of someone losing their job over a tweet — and this time it’s someone who should know better, that is, if you think she deserved it. CNN’s Senior Editor of Mideast Affairs Octavia Nasr is leaving the network due to this tweet, which she sent last weekend: “Sad to hear of the passing of Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah … One of Hezbollah’s giants I respect a lot.” (She later explained her remark in greater depth.) In an internal memo, CNN said the tweet caused Nasr’s “credibility in her position as senior editor for Middle Eastern affairs has been compromised going forward,” reports Mediaite. Maybe — but do you think she deserved to lose her job over it?
