With clients spread around the globe, travel is way of life for many PR people. Trade shows, desk-side briefings, new business pitches and the occasional vacation make flying a necessity.

So, I reached out to my traveling colleagues via email with a questionnaire to find out what airports they love to hate and the following made the list:

Heathrow in London won top honors for the most-hated followed closely by Chicago’s O’Hare with complaints of “utter chaos” and “always confusing with missed connections.”

Washington Dulles International because it’s so far out—apparently you can’t get there from here.

Dallas – Fort Worth. It’s too damn big.

LAX is too dilapidated.

LaGuardia treats passengers like cattle.

McCarron (Las Vegas) is all about waiting, waiting, waiting—and don’t forget those shuttles.

What’s your least favorite airport and why?

Susan Tellem, a partner at Tellem Grody Public Relations in Malibu, tries not to be a world traveler any more. A version of this story first appeared on the firm’s blog.
