Will Pabst Blue Ribbon’s new Russian ownership affect the brand?

Pabst Brewing Company recently sold its blue-collar brew to Russian brewer Oasis, but will the brand’s drinkers support the change?

Pabst Blue Ribbon is arguably one of the most vile-tasting liquids on Earth, but hipsters and blue-collar types everywhere enjoy it ironically. Now, they’ll have to reconcile whether they feel OK with supporting a Russian brand.

Pabst Brewing Company, which owns PBR and Old Milwaukee (among other stalwart American brands), has been purchased by Russian brewer Oasis Beverages.

An Oasis representative told CNN Money:

There are definitely NO plans to change any of the recipes of the brands. The entire team at Pabst including the Head Brewer Greg Deuhs will continue to focus on maintaining the classic recipes and consistent quality of all Pabst products. NO CHANGES WHATSOEVER.
