Here’s fair warning that your head may explode after reading this report on PR’s role with top management.
New research from Hotwire and the Holmes Report found that 59 percent of senior global communications execs surveyed believe PR is excluded from discussions and decisions with top management.
Here’s where it gets dicey.
The report continued: “84 percent of executives rate communications as the function that has the most influence on corporate reputation.” To boot, communication budgets have increased in 2011, compared with last year.
So, the vast majority of executives believe communications influences corporate reputation, yet most of them aren’t inviting PR pros to top-level meetings.
