Infographic: Lunch time, end of work day best times to tweet

By Kristin Piombino | Posted: June 29, 2011

As a communicator, you already know that Twitter and Facebook are great tools to broadcast a message quickly and efficiently.

But do you know the best times to send your message so it receives maximum exposure?

If you don't, this infographic by KISSmetrics—with data from Dan Zarrella—has you covered, highlighting when people are most likely to tune in to your social media activity.

The graphic illustrates these findings, among others:

  • The best time to tweet is around noon and 5 p.m. EST, and the best time to post on Facebook is noon and 7 p.m. EST.
  • The best days to tweet are midweek or on the weekends.
  • Sharing one post every two days will garner the most likes on Facebook.
  • Your tweets will attain a higher click-through rate if you tweet one to four times per hour.

The graphic also notes that the Eastern and Central time zones represent almost 80 percent of the U.S. population, so keep that in mind when timing your posts.
