They say 50 years denotes a golden anniversary, something I’d usually agree calls for ample celebration by whomever has stood such an impressive test of time.
However,
the honor for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, while sincerely remarkable given all of the huge breakthroughs the organization has made in terms of cancer, is also a sad one—sad because it means that even after 50 years, the lives of innocent kids are still at risk of this horrific disease.
For now, that means help is still needed, help that could very well mean you.
St. Jude is looking for an
associate director of public relations to join its marketing department in Memphis, Tenn., organizing communication efforts with donors, volunteers, and the general public, all the while continuing to keep the institution’s image a viable symbol of hope for patients and their families until the day arrives that a cure is finally found.
