The 35-year-old Sciortino Jr. came out to his family when he was 17, but he tells The Daily Beast
that it wasn’t as tough as it was to tell his parents he was a liberal.
Sciortino plans to marry his partner 10 days before the primary election. If elected to Congress, he’ll be the first representative in a same-sex marriage.
