We all know that it’s scary how much information people can find out about you online, in theory.
But what about in practice? Could you convince a person that you’re old friends just from the information you gather about them online?
Working from that premise, Experian, the company that knows your credit score, created the video below.
Watch as actors, using only the information they find about strangers online, convince these unsuspecting patrons that they’re old friends, or at least acquaintances:
Obviously, Experian did this to prove a point. According to an Experian press release, “Not only did ‘Strangers in a Bar’ prove how important it is to remain vigilant about our personal information. But the debate that’s brewing on Facebook raises the question: does quintessential British politeness leave us more open to identity fraud?”
