Infographic: Check out who’s checking-in on services like Foursquare

By Alan Pearcy | Posted: November 16, 2011
The female persuasion has made enormous strides in the world of politics, but if women want to make it as mayor, they will have to step up their games.

Crafted by the people at Column Five and Flowtown, this infographic shows that whether it’s geo-social networking services—such as Foursquare or Gowalla—or location–based services (LBS), men have the marginal advantage. While 59 percent of smartphone-owning gents use said technologies, the percentage of ladies packing an iPhone or similar device is 57.

Check-in’ers are also more likely to be ages 18 to 29, have a household income of $75,000-plus, and hold college diplomas.

For further breakdown, scope out the infographic below. With any luck, you won’t require any LBS-aid to find it. And for a larger view, click here.
