One thing you can say about the top global brands as ranked by Interbrand—they’re consistent. There is little change from last year’s ranking of the top 10 global brands to this year’s list.
Coca-Cola is No. 1, followed by IBM, Microsoft, Google, and GE—just like last year
There is one noticeable difference, though. Apple cracked the top 10. It is ranked eighth on the list—up from No. 17 last year—knocking the Finnish company Nokia from the top 10 down to No. 14. Apple was given the honor of being the biggest riser on the full list of 100 brands. Its value climbed 58 percent to $33.5 billion.
The list marks the 12th year that Interbrand
, one of the world’s largest brand consultancies, has ranked the top 100 global brands. To create the list, the firm assigns a dollar value to each brand after evaluating factors such as financial performance and brand strength.
