Santorum spokesperson forced to clarify her clarification

Nothing like going before the media to clarify something your boss or client said.

That’s what Rick Santorum’s spokesperson Alice Stewart did today to explain what the GOP candidate meant when on Sunday he referred to President Obama’s “phony theology.”

Some in the media (stoked by Obama aides) wondered whether Santorum was referring to the false rumor that President Obama is a Muslim. Not the case, Santorum said. The candidate told Fox News he was talking about Obama’s “radical” environmental policy.

Unfortunately, when Stewart appeared on MSNBC to explain her boss’s words, she said he was referring to Obama's “radical Islamic policies.” Whoops!

Stewart called MSNBC later to clarify her remarks.
