Spirit Airlines isn’t afraid of Danger—at least in its marketing efforts.
And yes, that’s capital-D Danger, as in Carlos, as in Anthony Weiner’s randy online alias.
Spirit is piling on Anthony Weiner’s latest tawdry online exchanges with a promotion it calls “The Weiner Rises Again”—a $24 discount on flights to Cancun or Los Cabos, Mexico.

points out, this is the second time Spirit has used Weiner’s misadventures in its marketing. At the height of the former congressman’s prior public disgrace, the carrier offered $9 fares that were “too HARD to resist.”
The current campaign features a hot dog (subtle, eh?) who shares Weiner’s pseudonym.
Whether the airline’s decision to associate itself with a high-profile sex scandal and the word “danger” is playfully risqué or just plain risky, we’ll leave up to you.
