Have you created a Google+ brand page for your company or client?
Nearly all of the top 100 brands in the world have done so, according to a
new study from BrightEdge. The list of top brands is based on Millward Brown’s “
Brandz Top 100 Most Valuable Brands” chart.
The study found that 94 percent of the top 100 brands have Google+ pages; 64 percent of them created their sites in the first week possible.
The number of people following these pages pales in comparison to that of Facebook.
“A review of Facebook and Google+ properties for all 100 brands showed a collective total of almost 300 million Facebook fans for these top brands, compared with approximately 148,000 Google+ followers for these same brands,” the study noted.
Google’s page has the most fans with 65,000.
Coca-Cola and
McDonald’s—each of which has tens of millions of fans on Facebook—have hundreds on Google+.
The BrightEdge study said that most brands aren’t promoting their Google+ pages on their websites. According to the study, a mere 13 percent of the top 100 brands display a Google+ link on their website home pages compared with 53 percent that share Facebook links.
PR Daily, by the way, does have a Google+ page.
