It’s widely known that social networking is a popular online activity. But it’s now the
most popular online activity worldwide, “accounting for nearly one in every five minutes spent online in October,” according to a
recent comScore study.
“Regardless of geography, social networks are weaving themselves ever more intricately into the fabric of the digital experience, opening a world of new opportunity for business and technology,” Linda Boland Abraham, comScore CMO and EVP of global development, said in a statement.
Facebook’s popularity was also evident in the study’s results. One in every seven minutes spent online were spent using Facebook. Also, 75 percent of all social networking activity was done using Facebook, according to the report.
