#TheDailySpin: The iPhone is killing photojournalism

Almost anyone with a smartphone can capture a breaking news story if they’re in the right place at the right time. But how do those cameras stack up against one another. To help break it down, an infographic from Frugal Dad pits Apple’s iPhone against a Canon Powershot.

It’s no wonder, then, that Apple is rumored to be boosting the camera technology on its tablet devices. According to a reportedly leaked photo of the iPad 3, the device has what appears to be an eight-megapixel shooter as well as a faster processor.

Amid media blindness by Apple’s highly anticipated iPad 3 rollout, a lot of social media platforms go unnoticed. Thankfully, TechCrunch counted down a dozen “unhyped’ new areas of Internet and mobile to know.

Meanwhile, the well-established YouTube is calling on the assistance of Hollywood in hopes of generating new channels to fill 25 hours worth of original content a day.

M&M’s would probably lend a hand with developing content on the site, too. The brand’s “Just My Shell” spot introducing its new spokescandy Ms. Brown took YouTube’s 2012 Ad Blitz crown.

And Londoners can expect to see new content starting next weekend with the launch of News Corp.’s Sun on Sunday edition.

For businesses looking for a boost in content—or a boost in online traffic—Pinterest is an excellent place to start. But how do you get started? Here’s your guide. (via Adverblog)

The more popular social media sites like Pinterest become on the Internet, the more importance businesses place on the use of their trademarks, patents, and copyrights on said networks. Case in point: Pretzel Crisps—brand name or generic term? Frito-Lay says it’s the latter, and is going to court to prove it.

Kim and Khloe Kardashian may find themselves in court, too. The reality star sisters face a potential class-action lawsuit over their paid endorsement of QuickTrim, a diet pill containing high amounts of caffeine that the FDA has ruled “not safe or effective for weight loss.”

We apparently had a less than effective Presidents’ Day on Monday, as we still need to wish a very happy belated 35th birthday to a certain special someone—Chuck E. Cheese. Thank you for making germ-infested ball pits and mediocre pizza a childhood mandate since 1977.
