Perhaps you’ve noticed a savvy Starbucks customers order off-menu drinks, such as the Nutella or the
Zebra Mocha. It’s been the stuff of coffee lore, until now. BuzzFeed published a
secret Starbucks Menu, and it’s got people wondering: Is this legit? If so, our morning Blonde Roast just got replaced by a grande Captain Crunch.
Ahoy.
Starbucks isn’t the only one enticing its consumers with new options. Taco Bell told its consumers to “Live Mas,” and they are. Parent company Yum! Brands reports that since the rollout of such items as its sinfully delectable Doritos Locos Taco, as well as a breakfast menu,
sales have jumped 6 percent.
Just wait until the
Cool Ranch version is released. My consumption alone should jack sales at least another couple of percentage points.
Sales weren’t the only things given a boost this week. My spirits were also lifted after reading about a cancer-stricken youngster whose
wish of being made Batman for a day was lived out thanks to some help from the Arlington Police and Fire Department, in conjunction with a nonprofit organization called Wish with Wings.
This video clip from “Jimmy Kimmel Live” involving vagazzled Hollywood darling Jennifer Love Hewitt and the salacious billboard for her new show “The Client List” also gave my spirits a boost:
That clip was longer than eight seconds—which,
according to Forbes, is all the time you’ll need to make a great impression at that next client meeting.
As for leaving an impression on Pinterest,
Fast Company reveals nine of the most creative ways users—not brands—have creatively take advantage of the social platform.
Just in time for Earth Day, “
Leroy,” from the parody twitter account @BPGlobalPR, is taking advantage of the two-year anniversary of BP’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to
promote a caption contest that probably irks the actual BP public relations department.
Speaking of Earth Day, Grist.org hoarded
this collection of the weirdest (read: worst) PR crap it had found polluting the global environment awareness effort.
It wasn’t a spill or smut, but spit that landed a South Carolina McDonald’s employee in custody after a
surveillance video allegedly caught him in the act of hawking one into a couple customers’ less than sweet, sweet teas.
That’s about a nauseating as a hangover. Luckily, a bus cruising around Vegas seems to have a cure for the latter. Known as
Hangover Heaven, the bus gives passengers an IV drip made of a “vitamin mix” that claims to fix people up within five hours so that—as the
advertising claims—they’ll feel like themselves again.
Just remember, no matter what your plans are for this weekend, that bus is only in Vegas. Drink too much and you will be feeling it tomorrow. Oh, and no 4/20 business tonight, all right?
