Twitter reveals its 2016 diversity goals
The social media platform said its hiring aims were ‘an opportunity rather than a challenge.’
To that end, the company has said it will increase the number of women and minorities among its ranks. The announcement comes weeks after Pinterest released its diversity goals for 2016.
Twitter announced the following goals in a blog post on the company’s site:
Increase women overall to 35% Increase women in tech roles to 16% Increase women in leadership roles to 25% Increase underrepresented minorities overall to 11%* Increase underrepresented minorities in tech roles to 9%* Increase underrepresented minorities in leadership roles to 6%* *US only
The social media platform will also continue with a number of programs, which include partnering with organizations that create opportunities for minorities and recruiting on campuses of historically black colleges and universities.
