Imagine, if you will, thousands of children running the streets of America insatiably craving the delicious taste of beer. And it’s all because of Jelly Belly.
The maker of jelly beans that taste like everyday stuff has gone a bit too far in creating a beer flavor, according to some social media-loving mommies.
From Business Insider
Thousands are thrilled by the new flavor, but a number of people are outraged by it, saying it will encourage kids to try alcohol and could even trigger a relapse for recovering alcoholics.
Jelly Belly’s “Draft Beer” flavor is described as
“effervescent and crisp … packed in a golden jelly bean with an iridescent finish.” It is, of course, alcohol (and gluten) free.
But that’s not stopping some from threatening to boycott Jelly Belly. For every “this is so cool” post from fans of its Facebook page, the company is seeing an irate person accusing the company of, among other things, trying to get their kids hooked on booze.

Jelly Belly has been doing a solid job of responding to people who are posting angry comments, including this statement:
We make flavors for all ages and have over 130 different flavors. We have been making cocktail inspired flavors since 1977 when we introduced MaiTai. Since then we have had Mojito, Margarita, and many others. The new Draft Beer is an adult flavor in response to the many suggestions we've received from fans asking for a craft beer flavor.
No word on whether (or how many) alcoholics have relapsed after popping a mojito or margarita-flavored Jelly Belly. You can check out a few more their responses below:
