The European Commission’s efforts to persuade young girls to take a greater interest in science experienced problems when critics slammed the
“Science: It’s A Girl Thing!” campaign for being (among other things) too “condescending.”
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube last Friday, shows three fashionably dressed young women laughing and blowing kisses in a faux science lab. The European Commission said it had to “speak their [women’s] language to get their attention.”
What do you think of the video?
