Craigslist's "missed connections" section is usually reserved for those lonely hearted souls who were too shy to chat with that guy or gal they were ogling in public places. But electrofunk duo Chromeo has a new use for it: marketing tool.
The band took to the site's missed connections
to promote its new album, "White Women," which is due this spring.
The post features lyrics from the Toro y Moi-featuring first single “Come Alive”, along with album art and news of a May 12 release date. The ad was posted in Minneapolis Craigslist and lists an address identified as the First Avenue club, immortalized as the location of a handful of scenes in Prince's Purple Rain.
Certainly creative, though it remains to be seen just how effective a maneuver it is.
