I’ve never done it myself, but there must be something about cursing out a phone operator that is cathartic in some way. Otherwise, why would an otherwise civil human launch into a tirade against a poor, unsuspecting individual on the other line?
Whatever the reason, some industries see a higher volume of hotheads than others. A new infogrpahic points out which industries are more likely to elicit an angry—I mean really angry caller.

, which published the infographic, one in every 82 conversations with satellite TV providers elicited a curse. This is based on results from the company's first Cursing Index survey. Marchex analyzed 1.2 million phone calls placed to businesses by consumers in the past two years.
The least cursed-at businesses seem to be places that care for human and furry loved ones: Veterinary clinics and senior living establishments.
