The common phobias afflicting creative types

By Alan Pearcy | Posted: November 5, 2012
Lawn gnomes terrify me.

I blame what had to have been some low-budget, made-for-TV horror flick I watched as a child—one that some unnamed authority figure should have stopped me from seeing.

This phobia even has a name—gnomophobia. Unfortunately, the American Psychological Association has yet to recognize it. Clearly, they never saw the movie.

Where am I going with this?

Gnomes are creepy—also, there’s an infographic from DesignTaxi created by Column Five outlining the many phobias that are hobbling the creative community.

From Papyrus font to sterile work cubicles and even client relations, here are the things that haunt their dreams at night. Incidentally, gnomes didn’t make the cut. Weird.
