EasyJet, a low-cost airline in Europe, has launched a blog
to boost its online presence—and, in doing so, kicked up some controversy with an over-the-top claim.
Last week, the airline said it had launched the U.K.’s first airline blog. Not true. Easyjet apparently forgot that British Airlines and Virgin Atlantic maintain blogs.

—a news site that covers the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries—Kevin May writes:
“The problem with public relations … claiming super-amazing ‘firsts’ is that they are invariably untrue. Or just puff to get journalists to write a story.”
