How NOT to speak with the media: FIFA vice president threatens to spit on reporter

By Michael Sebastian | Posted: June 22, 2011
Jack Warner, the vice-president of soccer’s governing body FIFA, resigned his post this week in a deal that would have the organization’s ethics committee drop bribery charges against him.

Warner is quite the PR mastermind. Just look at how he handled BBC investigative reporter Andrew Jennings in 2009:

Warner has been accused of selling World Cup tickets for profit, among other charges against him.

Jennings ambushed Warner once more, and this time Warner’s media relations savvy really shined through:

That’s right; Warner would like to “spit on him.” But that remark can’t touch Warner's telling Jennings: “Ask your mother.”

Burned.
