Today there’s an even more pervasive drug scrambling our brains: social media.
A recent
infographic from OnlineCollegeCourses.com tells us that social media is harder to resist than sleep and sex. Sleep! And sex! Meanwhile, we love to talk about ourselves on social media. In fact, that’s what 80 percent of our online conversations are about—us, compared with 30 to 40 percent in real life.
And just like drugs, food, and sex, our brains sizzle with gratifying, yet fleeting pleasure with every narcissistic mention.
