On Tuesday afternoon, the official looking Twitter account @OfficialSkyNews tweeted that Margaret Thatcher passed away at the age of 86 from a prolonged illness.

This is false. Thatcher is alive.

The account is a fake and has since been taken down. However, the damage is done. Thousands are tweeting “RIP” (or something similar) to the Iron Lady.
