Merging video with infographics proves effective for Northwestern Medicine
Animated infographic approach helps tell the organization’s story.
Telling its story is one of the great challenges every organization faces. Helping employees across the diverse parts of an organization understand the narrative and where they fit into it can have far-reaching implications for engagement, commitment, productivity, and loyalty.
As Northwestern Medicine
experienced unprecedented growth—capped by an affiliation with Cadence Health—the need for the 25,000-employee-strong workforce to know what they are part of grew more evident. With more than 50 employee annual meetings scheduled across Northwestern Medicine’s facilities, the opportunity emerged to “celebrate with and speak to our newly defined workforce,” according to the organization’s entry.
To do so, Northwestern Medicine opted to combine two of today’s most effective communication formats: video and infographics. The combination of a distinct animated style with facts conveyed through the video proved effective at promoting “the common reason we are all here: our patients.” Some 20,000 employees attended the meetings, and the video has been shared with thousands of additional viewers both inside and outside of the organization.
