Drivers along Interstate 95 in Florida were probably scratching
their heads when they came across a sign directing them to the
University of North “Flordia” and “Flordia” State College’s south
WTSP 10 News tweeted this photo of the sign:
According to news radio station WOKV,
the Florida Department of Transportation is laying the blame for the
misspelling at the feet of the Arkansas-based contractor that made it.
The original plan sent to the contractor had the correct spelling, FDOT
“It was something we spotted right away. We wouldn't allow them to
put up the sign until it's been corrected,” a spokesman for FDOT told

FDOT is replacing the signs as part of an effort to make signs along
I-95 more readable. The contractor will replace the sign at no
additional cost, First Coast News reports.
