Infographic helps cybercrime prevention company become an industry leader
When ThreatMetrix wanted to establish itself as a thought leader in the cybercrime prevention industry, Walker Sands Communication created an infographic that successfully did the job.
You’ve probably read articles, heard stories, or seen warnings about Internet security.
You know you shouldn’t shop online over a public wireless Internet network, but those shoes are on sale and you want to get them before someone else does.
Sure, paying your credit card bill at Starbucks where someone could easily look over your shoulder and glimpse your account number is risky, but you don’t want to forget to do it later.
We’ve all made these excuses.
But in an infographic that earned it top honors in the Best Infographic category of PR Daily’s 2013 Digital PR Awards, Walker Sands Communication
explains exactly what threats you face when you use a public wireless network.
Walker Sands created the infographic
to establish ThreatMetrix
as a thought leader in the cybercrime prevention industry. Because so many people use wireless Internet in cafés and restaurants, Walker Sands focused the graphic on the threats people face when they do so. The graphic also offers tips on how to avoid becoming a cybercrime victim.
The graphic illustrates a technical and complicated issue in a clean, easy-to-understand way. The images aid understanding, and the text is clear and concise.
The infographic’s results prove its effectiveness. The graphic received coverage in 30 outlets and saw more than 5,500 Facebook shares, 3,700 Twitter shares, 930 Google+ shares, and 900 LinkedIn shares from just one publication. Also, in the week the infographic debuted, Web traffic to ThreatMetrix.com increased 54 percent from the previous week, and referral traffic went up 173 percent.
