Grand Prize: CSR Agency of the Year

Canada’s first-ever B Corporation PR agency is CSR Agency of the Year

Yulu Public Relations exists to communicate social impact.

Yulu Public Relations was one of the first purpose-driven PR agencies in North America. It’s also the first Canadian PR agency to be certified as a B Corporation by the nonprofit B Lab due to its “rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.” Now it’s taken first place for “Corporate Social Responsibility Agency of the Year” in PR Daily’s 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards.

The agency has built an alliance of PR, communications and CSR professionals focused on impact relations, which Yulu defines as “the discipline of sharing powerful, authentic stories that have a positive impact and, in turn, change behaviors.” This singular and important focus has attracted a variety of high-profile clients like Red Bull Amaphiko, the social impact branch of the energy drink maker that hosts a 10-day academy for grassroots and social entrepreneurs seeking to make an impact on their communities.

Yulu has also tackled assignments for B Lab itself, handling PR efforts when the lab moved its Champion Retreat out of North Carolina after the state passed anti-transgender legislation.

Yulu’s efforts on behalf of organizations seeking to make a social impact are inspiring, as is its roster of clients.

Congratulations to Yulu and Melissa Orozco, the agency’s founder and creative director.
