Company buys full-page ad in NYT to run a press release

A full-page ad in The New York Times Magazine goes for about $100,000, which means this press release might be the most expensive one ever. “A press release from ‘Classic Marketing Company’ — exactly the type of press release that runs hundreds of times per day on obscure newswires, to the interest of absolutely no one — appeared verbatim as a full-page ad in yesterday’s NYT magazine,” Gawker reported. “Right up front, after the letters to the editor!”
