Public name-calling ensues in wake of Charlie Hebdo shooting

A University of Southern California journalism professor took to Facebook to rail against New York Times editor Dean Baquet’s decision not to publish cartoons that sparked last week’s Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris. Baquet responded on Facebook—and quite publicly—by calling the professor, Marc Cooper, an “asshole.”

In case you don’t care to pop into the comments and ensuing discourse between the two, Baquet responded, “Dear Marc, appreciate the self righteous second guessing without even considering there might be another point of view. Hope your students are more open minded. Asshole.”
