Instagram beats Twitter with 300 million active users
The photo-sharing app is now the second largest social media platform, and will be rolling out verified accounts and blocking spam in effort to improve users’ experience.

There are 300 active Instagram users, compared with 284 million for Twitter.
Instagram is also moving toward verifying accounts for “celebrities, athletes and brands,” according to a blog post from Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom.
