Facebook and Apple team up for Mother’s Day campaign

Social media platforms have become a go-to way for consumers to interact with brands for the occasion. Here’s what Facebook rolled out.

If you were short on cash this Mother’s Day weekend, you could have given mom something completely free and technologically heartfelt: inclusion in the Apple/Facebook joint venture, MomsShotOniPhone.

Users could visit the website, upload a photo of themselves with their mother, and then post a rolling slideshow to their Facebook page that featured moms from around the world, ending with your photo of your mom.

Mashable reports that some of the fine print in the Terms and Conditions is worrisome:

By submitting a photograph or video (“Content”), you grant Apple Inc. the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to incorporate such Content and your name into a video produced by Apple and to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt, and promote this Content, in whole or in part, on Facebook.
