International Coffee Day brews up facts and freebies for latte lovers

Of course, what little residual does remain goes to Starbucks. Like my morning Blonde Roast, however, I’m not bitter about this notion, nor do I imagine that any of the coffee giant’s many rivals are concerned with my café chain of choice.

There are clearly an ample number of caffeine addicts to prey upon, or at least enough to make an international holiday out of it all.

According to a 2012 survey conducted by one such rival—Dunkin’ Donuts—a great deal of those morning mudslingers are you, my public relations and marketing colleagues.

Bearing in mind that what we’re mostly paying for with every shot of espresso we toss back is actually the cup, perhaps we can find solace in learning that a number of brewers were looking to save their patrons a little something this past Sunday.
