LinkedIn reports earnings growth

The online platform, aimed at professionals, is seeing growth across its marketing offerings.

The company posted a 23 percent year-over-year earnings boost to $960 million for the third quarter. Those numbers beat analysts’ projections.

LinkedIn made the largest gain with its Talent Solutions revenue, which rose 24 percent year-over-year to $623 million. Marketing solutions also saw a bump, up 26 percent to $175 million.

This is a sign that LinkedIn marketing is working, particularly for business-to-business users who can pay to more prominently feature their accounts and their content on the siteā€”much the same way as Facebook or Twitter.

It’s also indicative of LinkedIn’s rise as a talent-acquisition tool, cutting further into a landscape that Career Builder and Monster.com once dominated.
