Laura Scherban

Laura Scherban is the Managing Director, Head of Talent Management for Mizuho Americas.  In this role, she is responsible for the Firm’s Talent Management activities across all offices, with a focus on recruitment and retention of staff.  Laura oversees the experienced hire and campus recruitment teams, who hire over 600 employees annually at all levels across the firm’s Investment Banking, Markets and Corporate functions.  She is also responsible for the Firm’s Learning and Development efforts, including Leadership and Management Development programs, as well as their ongoing training curriculum.

Laura previously worked at Brown Brothers Harriman, where she led the firm’s global recruitment efforts for 17 years.  Prior to that, she worked at Barclays Capital as the Head of US recruitment.  Laura began her career at Prudential Insurance where she held various HR roles.

Laura has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Masters Degree in Human Resources from Rutgers University.  She lives in Cedar Grove, NJ with her husband and two daughters.
