Survey: Most marketers will spend more on social media in 2015

A recent study reported 70 percent of marketing pros will place bigger budgets on both paid and organic social media strategies.

A Salesforce Marketing Cloud survey reveals 70 percent of the more than 5,000 marketing pros surveyed said they plan to increase the amount of money they spend on paid social media campaigns and marketing.

Paid advertisements aren’t the only thing receiving more budget money; 67 percent said they will increase spending on social media engagement.

Jeff Rohrs, Salesforce’s vice president of marketing, tells AdWeek social media engagement must accompany paid marketing in order to be successful:

One of the fears I had was that since social media advertising few, you might see some brands fail to recognize you have to support the organic side of it as well. Otherwise, those advertisements won’t perform. But it looks like the advertising will be complemented by the organic side.
